Provista Launching Clinical Study of Breast Cancer Dx, Could ...

Foundation Medicine has appointed Steven Kafka chief business officer, a newly created position. He joins the company from Aileron Therapeutics, where he served as chief operating officer and chief financial officer. Previously, he was vice president of finance for Infinity Pharmaceuticals and senior director of finance at Millennium Pharmaceuticals.


Sanford-Burnham Medical Research Institute said this week that CEO John Reed is leaving his post at the institute to become head of Roche Pharma Research and Early Development and to serve on the firm's corporate executive committee. Sanford-Burnham's current President, Kristiina Vuori, will take over Reed's responsibilities on an interim basis while the institute seeks his replacement.


Seegene this week announced the appointment of Jon Hurrell as senior executive vice president. Hurrell most recently served as president and general manager of Focus Diagnostics, a subsidiary of Quest Diagnostics. Prior to that, he served as vice president of business development at Quest. He also held numerous management positions at healthcare firms, including senior vice president and general manager at TriPath Oncology, a subsidiary of TriPath Imaging (now part of Becton Dickinson).
